Sonet WIP and screenshots
Im trying a new painting style and MAN its fun!!! Im sitting here listening to Harry potter and painting and having the time of my life! Feels so great, really does 
So what im doing.. for those of you playing at home… is working relitivly on one layer. I painted her hand tonight and the whole thing was done on one layer. Now normally i work like, a colour per layer, so that if i want to change a shade or something later on its just a matter of finding the layer and changing the shade… but its so robotic and annoying. Also it makes my file sizes like a BILLION times too big. This way, im working on a little colour pattet and i just mix the colours together as i go, no erasing and no smudging… just straight colour over colour and swapping the size of the brushes.
Its a bit scarey actually… if i do something awsome im really scared of changing anything cause theres only so far i can go back using the history… BUT its so fresh and fun its worth the risk
Ive uploaded a screenshot of my desktop. Theres the pic im drawing (derrr) and the reference photo.. and the one up the top is the colour theme im sorta working towards. I love how the oranges and browns react with the blue background. So yeah ENJOY i guess

Worked on her a little more tonight but didnt get much done.. couldnt concentrait 
Her nose is almost done and started on her eyes… they are gona be hard!

Worked on her some mooooore. Getting her eyes started and her teeth which was heeeeel hard. Its so hard to paint things that are white.. but shaddowed. You dont want them to look like they got grey teeth or anything like that, but u cant give them white teeth or they look radioactive! lol
Im starting to lose my direction with this piece… i dont have any idea what the hellz im doin anymore

Forced myself to work on this some more tonight.. im glad I did. Im not really THAT happy with it, but i think more interested in finishing it now.. where as last edit i was about ready to start a new project
I tried fixing her eyes.. but im still not that happy with them. I also worked on her hair obviously. MAN… SO hard not to do that strand by strand painting. I had to start it over a few times cause i couldnt let go to using the small brush and painting in the folds and shines and junk. in the end i did it all on one layer using 1 brush at different sizes. Its not finished yet, but i like where its going i think. I also added in her freckles ^_^ i looove my freckles dont i 
I cant help myselfff! They are all over her body, but when i scale it down for upload size u cant really notice them anywhere but her face, so ill have to go back and do a few more darker so they stand out a bit more. Gona start ideas on her background next. Any ideas, requests, HELP!?

Her hand is so incredible woman!! :O Woah! Do her eyes next, her eyeesssss!!!! Eeee I cannot wait to see this done, is Sonet gonna be the special print you were talking about in your email!?!?! I hope so coz I know she is gonna be so worth it!

lol yeah she is. Well.. i didnt actually know it was gona be HER exactly, but ive been fiddling with this painting style heaps (on nothing special.. just blending colours and making shapes and stuff) and i knew it was right! So yeah, im painting her huge so i can have her printed
Also cause this style is reaaaly messy.. ill send you a close up of her hand and ull se what i mean… it makes it so easy to paint large cause it doesnt matter if its 100% smooth! This has been the hardest thing for me to let go of, cause u know me.. im so anal about getting the lines perfect and the shading smoooooth. Its why i never finish things also i recon, cause i get way too caught up in making everything perfect and i lose interest really quickly.

Hehe, yeah I know exactly what you mean about smoothness, I had to forcibly stop myself from stressing over it too coz you can just get lost in being fussy. But it works for some people. I just gave up and accepted the fact that I’m a messy artist and everyone can just deal with it!

I’ve started with like an orange layer over everything and it does make sense using orange underneath where Ima use pinks and purples….it totally does!!!! ….shuddup!
But yeah Ima do some more soon and I should have a shot on my blog by the end of today! ^^
